          This is my reflection journal for lab number 19 which was to use the feather tool in Photoshop CS6. The object of this lab is to learn how to use the feather tool and learn its concept. I pick a picture of a boat and I duplicate the boat picture 3 more times. I used the feather tool to cover up or fix up the edges in the picture and that will make the image look more smother and will take away the edges. This lab took me about 1 day to do and I learned how to use it . This was challenging at first but later on it was easy for me to use

  This is my reflection journal for project number 9 which was a newsletter project. Our topic for this was about comic books my part was to write about the origin of comic books and i also talked about the major comic book company in the United States which is DC comics and Marvel Comics. I also was the photographer in my group and i also edit some things pictures in adobe illustrator and photoshop cs6 for my teammates. In my part of the newsletter i wrote a essay on the origin of comic books i also added 3 pictures in the bottom of my essay. What i use to create my part of the essay was google to search for the origin of comic books, indesign to but my essay in there, microsoft word document to but my essay, and the google drive doc to talk to my partner, and i used photoshop CS6 and adobe illustrator for the three pictures i edit. This was a challenging project at first because i couldn't find any information at first but then i found it and i also had trouble to but my word document into indesign document. The three pictures i used for my part was one about DC comics another one about Marvel comics and two comics pictures were from Japan and Europe most popular comic books from those countries. For me this part of my newspaper article took me about three to four class days and it was challenging for me at the begining of the newspaper article project .

       This was my other lab i did is was lab number 23 and it was on shape building tool in adobe illsutarter.I learned how many different shapes there are in adobe, there are 6 different shapes in illstuarter. I learned that you can add two colors in your shape in all the different shpaes. I also learned that you can blend shapes with other shapes in this lab. Blending shapes with other was hard for me at first i need help from one of my classmate to do this part of the lab which was blending the shapes together.

      This is my lab 22 reflection and it is on the blob brush tool in adobe illstuarter. I learned by doing a blob and easreing it in the middle that the blob spilts in half and i could resize it. I also that you can add a custom bolb brush in the menu main to use in the next  time. I also learned the the color blend it gives you and and how i can use it in my next project.

      This other lab was lab number 21 and it was all about the paint brush tool. In this lab i learned all about the paint brush tool in adobe illsutrater. The paint brush tool is different than the pencil tool that i used in the periouvs lab. With the paint brush tool you can choose what type of paint brush you want to use and what kind of effect you want in like the lightness or color and size of paint brush if your size is big your paint brush will come out big if it is small it will come out same. You can also add your own custom brush into your menu bar on top in your menu main.

      This is my lab 20 reflection this lab was on the pencil tool in adobe illsturader. I learned all about the pencil tool and what it does. I learned all about the pencil tools and there effects and other modes. I learned that you can demin the light in the pencil tool and that you can change the color, and you can also choose a size on how big and how bright you want your peencil to be used in.

Youth Empowerment Conference Reflection

  Yesturday I attened with the Youth Empowerment Conference where it was held in the United Federation of Teachers Building on 52 Broadway, Shanker Hall, New York, the conference was from 9:00am to 3:30pm on Saturday. In the Youth Empowerment Confernce their was lots of guest speaker talking about what modivates them and their inspiritions and how they found there passion for their careers and one speaker was talking about her ancestors and where she came from. All the speakers made me think about what is my passion to get up everyday and go to school or do the things i do. My passion is my family and the love or soccer and basketball, my family's love for me makes me get up for school and play sports so i could have a good education and go to college and play professinal soccer or basketball when i grow up, That is my passion. The first speaker name Ms.Robinson told us all of her career and what sees does in her job, she told us how edcuation help her get that job and how she went back to school to get her High School dipolma and went to college to get all her degrees. The second speaker named Mia told us all about her job and where she works, she works for the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center as an event coordinator. The third speaker works for the NYPD and he is a Lieutenant and he told us his process to become a lieutenant and how he study a 3000 page book to get his position and how at his age he still study and is leraning and how edcuation is very important and how he loves his job because he is a role model to all kids.

Project 8 Brochure

This was my final draft of my brochure project with my group memebers. I was in charged of doing 2 pictures and doing panells 3 and 4. the picture i did was the main picture which was the six flags logo and the map of the rides and games in six flags. What i did to the six flags logo was the thing we learned from the periovus lesson which was puppet wrap. To do this puppet wrap i did it in photoshop cs6 and i placed the image in photoshop then i click on edit and puppet wrap then i would but points on the logo's, i but 8 points in this image then i click on a point and i would move that part of the image up or down. I did this to the image and it came out like that. The I had to do panels 3 and 4 of this brochure. What i wrote on the 3rd panel was i list some of the activities and rides in six flags. I list all the activites and rides in six flags in the 3rd panel. In the 4th panel i list all the foods and drinks the park has.My team memebers were Khirul, Samuel, and Dorant. This was what i did for my project 8 which was a group project brochure.

Critical Thinking and Problem Sloving

      The other video we saw from the soft skills website was about critical thinking and problem sloving. I learned the it is good to be an active thinker because you can find ways to sloves problems that you think have no slovution. I also learned that for every problem he have our comes our way we can always find an slovtion to, you can even ask people to help you. The synopsis was showing us why we need all this skills for our jobs or any kind of business job you are working in our applying for. When need all this skills to be good people in our jobs.       The another video we watch in class was in the soft skill website and it was about Teamwork. I learned that when we do things as a team and one person from our work place or school wants to give us all the credit for the project we dont take all the credit we make sure we tell them the people that help us. I also learned that working as a team is good because we have lots of ideas and we will finish the work together.      We also watch another video in soft skill and that video was about professionalism. We learned that if we have a job or work for a business company we have to have lots of professionalism in that job. Which means come to work on time and do as you are told. We also have to have great eye contact to our boss and our co-workers at and during work time. What i also learned was that you also have to be well dressed and ready to work. That was what I learned from watching the video in soft skill about professionalism.

   The other video we saw from soft skills was about Enthusiasm and Atttitude in your job, buisness, and school. This video was showing us how to act when we are going for a job interview or any kind of  business jobs you want to go to. You need to have a postive attituted and show your future boss that you are ready and are ready to learn. You also need to have a postive enthusiasm and be ready and willying to face the challegens ahead in your job and challegens your boss will throw at you. Thats what I learned from the Enthusiasm and Attitude video in soft skills.

              The first video we saw yesturday in class was about communication skills. It was talking about how we can improve our communication skills in our jobs, business, and school. It was saying how when don't notice our seleves when we write or talk that we are abbreviating words to people we talk to or to our papers we write. It also said that if we don't work on our communication skills people we talk to, write to, or text won't understand what we are talking about and they will be confussed. That was what we saw in the video about communication skills in the soft skills video.

     This is my Project 7 work it was made in Photoshop CS6 and its a timeline video thats 10 seconds long. It is a 10 second video about Respect and i made it in Photoshop CS6. The tools i have use to make this are the Gradient tool, Type tool, and Custom shapes. The customs shapes i have used are the right and left hands, the male and female logo, a white bird, Ying Yang logo, a male and female person, and a handicap logo. The primary colors i have used are pink, blue, white, red, bache, and light blue with black for the background. Making this project was a little difficult because at first i had no idea what to put in my video and what shapes to but also. But overall this was a good project because i got to use some of the old skills i learned in photoshop for this project.

   

Lab 11 Reflection

   This is my reflection on lab 11 which was to create a timeline video. To create this lab i used the gradient tool, and the custom shape for this lab. The custom shape tool i used is a car with the color red and black. At the begining of this lab I made my car occupity be at 0% then go up to 100%  I also gave the custom car some effects like the inner and outer shadow. Lab 11 was a little challenging at first but then I found out how to do it so I finished fast and new what to do know. To keep this image on going i set it to forever and i also saved this image as a GIF.

Reflection Journal on CTE Expo

       The CTE Expo was a great experience for me because it was my first time hosting this event instead of visiting it. What is the CTE Expo you may say, it is an event were freshman come and visit our 3 academies which are Web Design, Apple, and Video Design. Who were the host of this, well it was us the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades host this event for the freshman. When was this event, this event is in ITHS High School and its on 2/12/15 all day long. How was this event set up, well it was set up by the 10th 11th 12th grades in our we design room we divide the room into 3 sides the sophomores side the juinors side and the senior sides.
        When the room was spilt up into 3 sides we but over projects up on our side of the room and fix it and made everything fit on our side of the room. When this was done we got ready for the CTE Expo the next day which meet coming dress like businees people with business attire. We also had to know what we were going to say tomorrow so we dont get nervous. When this event was set up Mrs. Ramierz only set the date we did the rest like organize the room and everything else. Why this event was set up, well it set up to recuirt the next class of 10th grades that will join or web design academy. The results of this event was good because i got a great leraning experiencing out of this like what we can do to be better on our next CTE Expo and what we can do better on our presentation.

Project Reflection

        The process i followed i have followed to create my project were the one we got on the sheet. I also did another process to create my work which was looking at examples of former project boards. From looking at those two process i did i create my project board for the Business Card project. That was the two process i followed to create my project.
       Following this two process i used to create my project it made my project board and written part of the project look more efficent. Using those process it made my Business Card look more effient by adding all the details needed to add. I also made my essay look more effiecent by following all the process that it was written in the sheet for the essay and the defintion look more effiecent.
      There are lots of ways that i could improve on my project board and the written part of my project too. The first thing i could do in my project board to improve is add a little more detail to do essay's and add a little more pictures in my defintions and add pictures in my essay's. I could also add more details to the background of my project board and add pictures about InDesign and business cards and also add color to my background.

Fall Semester Reflection

   A. During the Fall semester I think that I did very well in the fall semester. I did all my work, and did ok im my labs and projects for the fall semester. I think that I can improve my garde in visual design for the spring semester. The thing i can improve more in the spring term is the foloowing i can improve my projects, and labs a little more to make it better. Those are the things i can do to improve and thats what i did in the fall semster to.
 
 B. During the fall term i learned lots of things like how to use photoshop CS6 and InDesign CS6. I learned all the different type of tools from photoshop CS6 and what they do and how to use them and use them in labs and projects. I also learn some of the basic tools of InDesign and how they work to. Those are the things that i learned from the fall semester so far in Visual Design.
     
 C. The thing that i found particulary easy, fun and enjoyable about the fall semester was in photoshop CS6. The thing is was designing our logo for our future business and business card. I found that really fun, easy and enjoyably to do during the fall semster.

 D. The thing that i found particualry hard, and challenging in the Fall Semster was in InDesign CS6. What i found hard was designing our final project which was making a business card. I found that hard because i didn't know how to use InDesign and how some of the different tools work. That's what I found really hard and challegning during the Fall Semster.

E. I found lots of ways on how i can improve my garde in Visual Design. I can inprove my lab works, i can make them better and with more design. I also can improve my projects and make them better and add more detail and use all the tools a little better in each of my projects.

F. Everything I have expiried in tha Fall Semster was very vitual. What i found very vitual was remebering all the tools of photoshop and InDesign. I also founnd very vitual was each project and lab works we did this past semster. Those are all the things i found vitual in the fall semster.

Reflection Journal

   This is my first draft of my business card that i will create. Here is the outline of how it will look towards they end. I add the my name and school and that i am a visual design student and at the bottom of the card  i add my information like address city zip code and phone number. In the right of my business card i add my bussiness logo.

   This is my second draft of my business card that i have made. Here is what i have add to my business card to make it stand out and look more better than the first draft. I have add a red back ground to the card i have also have add a email address and a fax number to my card business card. I also changed my logo color background to red so it can match my background of my business card besides that everything else is the same.
